The Chinese celebrate their New Year today and I thought it would be a good idea to have a dekho at the way Chinese people celebrate it.

There were a few stalls in Russel Street serving some delicious Chinese food and they had set up two stages where the artists were presenting some folk dance and songs. Although they made little sense to me, I think I might have enjoyed more if I knew a bit of the language.

Anyways, it was a colorful celebration with a little musical parade doing rounds and I thought it is never a bad idea to click a few pictures and post them here.

The elections time here in Australia is not too different than in India. Both the parties make promises for the betterment of the society and a strange co-incidence is these promises spring up all of the sudden during election time only and hibernate till the next elections. I just fail to understand this supernatural-ish phenomenon.

Also, the opposition party must understand that just because they are in ‘Opposition’ does not necessarily mean they have to oppose everything the party in power says or does.

Get a life, for God’s sake.

It is just one of those instances that leave you thinking and admiring the fact that how could an 8-9 years old kid could say such a thing. It is about Bindi Irwin, Steve CrocHunter Irwin’s daughter. She was asked in a recent function that how she felt about her father not being able to attend the function with her. Pat came the reply,

‘It is kinda bad that he could not make it, but it is kinda nice that I could.’

How good is that?
I think I am a Bindi Irwin fan now.

I wonder whats wrong with the world? US has also warned India of possible terrorist strikes on or around 15th of August, The Independence Day. Infact, it is the same story every year, come 15th of August and the security is beefed up in and around the capital city. One can’t miss police in every corner of the city like mushrooms in rainy season.
Can’t stop wondering when will we be really independent ??
