The Chinese celebrate their New Year today and I thought it would be a good idea to have a dekho at the way Chinese people celebrate it.
There were a few stalls in Russel Street serving some delicious Chinese food and they had set up two stages where the artists were presenting some folk dance and songs. Although they made little sense to me, I think I might have enjoyed more if I knew a bit of the language.
Anyways, it was a colorful celebration with a little musical parade doing rounds and I thought it is never a bad idea to click a few pictures and post them here.

I just could not let the opportunity of watching the Australia-England first final pass by and that too at the MCG. So when I got the chance, I grabbed it with both my hands.
The game stretched to the very last over, as everybody knows, and had a nail biting finish which only made my experience at MCG more memorable.

After hoping from one site to another in search of a ‘not-so-expensive-but-decent’ bike for about a month, I finally managed to get a 24-speed mountain bike from www.melbourne.gumtree.com.au. All of AU$90, it is quite good and is in perfect operational order.
My first ride was not so long as I felt like taking a break after every 10 minutes which was partly due to the fact that I have not been upto much recently and partly because of the roads in Melbourne going up and down hill.
This Monday onwards I will ride to work rather than taking Connex trains which have most recently been marred due to break failure incidence.
Just another reason to start riding to work.
